I have, it is interesting to me how Clippy has become the icon of resistance. I grew up with computers, being born in 1976, and remember the hate that character got in the mid to late 90s (my experience with him was Word 97, I believe).

I agree, the AI age verification needs to be resisted. The ID requirement with a physical ID is fine with me, no different than trying to get in a club or whatever. If it results in less bullshit to deal with (flagging content for being "not safe for users under 18" for instance) then I am fine with it. I have never done anything that would land me in jail such as threatening people or anything, but let me tell you, I have had plenty do it to me - one even paid a private investigator to find me, another got my phone number and literally flew to the city I live in and called me demanding I meet him (ha!). He texted me selfies in front of landmarks in my town for proof (he was using a burner phone here, he was smart enough for that one). Another apparently inquired about hiring a professional problem remover (I found out via mutual friends).

In general, yes, I am against ID verification. Especially to use a platform that is intended for "general audiences". Want to sign up for OnlyFans? They already required ID verification to access their platform. Why should I have to verify to use Bluesky or X? Well, X, I could see because there are more than a few content creators there baring it all for free.

What is next? Verify to use a search engine because they index free adult content and little Jimmy in south New Mexico might stumble upon it one Saturday afternoon while his parents are out grocery shopping?

With that line of thinking, should they ID verify EVERY customer entering a gas station or convenience store that carries adult magazines or Rated M games or Rated R+ movies? Guess we need to ID verify at Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc to.

I am fine with ID verification on some things but totally against it on others. I know it is a slippery slope that I tread.
