Back then people really put a lot of weight on what Carmack or Romero would have to say about something like a port of Doom. Today, not so much. Back then though, Carmack had A LOT of pull on how things were done.
I am wondering why he was okay with the texture warping in the PlayStation version of Doom but had a problem with it in the early Saturn port?
