You may be right. Movies and such aimed at adults, at least the ones that seemingly make tons of money, are definitely pushing themes that are violent in some way.
Even older cartoons that had violence in them often had moments of empathy between the characters at some point. Like Tom and Jerry, Sylvester and Tweety, the Flintstones, etc. They all had violence of some sort but also many times the characters showed support to each other, went through things together and more.
Growing up, I was never into the violent stuff. There are many types of violence I simply don't care to see and will avoid anything that features it.
