Such a shame that we went from games like this, full of animation and charm, to 32-bit games that were 3D, lifeless, often over procesed visuals that lacked animation or life to them. The few 2D attempts on PlayStation were held back by Sony and Sega never really tried to take on this challenge to Sony's armor like they should have.
Such a wild time to be a gamer, going from SNES and Sega Genesis with 60 FPS action platform games to barely 20 FPS polygon based games. We were so quick to move on that we lost a lot of potential fun.
