I never knew this existed, what a wild trip this was to read. I stopped visiting arcades religiously around the time Mortal Kombat II was released, one of the last games I remember seeing/playing in an arcade was Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, that was only because it was right there at the entrance and I wanted one last "hurah" as I was moving to a town that didn't have any arcades within an hour drive.
Sadly, arcades around me were Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat 1 dominated (I mean, rows of them lining the walls) pushing out most of the original games that were being released at that time.
I am on the fence on if I would have put any quarters in this one. It looks interesting but sounds like the control scheme would have turned me off. While I am a fan of Street Fighter II, I could not get into some fighting games due to wonky controls (Primal Rage at home was one I couldn't get into because of the controls).
