I am right there with you about the last time I was good at these types of games, if that is even true then as I was never "good". I did enjoy scrolling shooters onto the PlayStation and Sega Saturn but after that, much like this genre, my interest died out as Bullet Hell really took over at that point. Sure, games like Ikaruga on Gamecube looked amazing, I simply could not enjoy them, it was just too much to keep up with.
