Konami is one of those companies that watches the bottom line, hard. If something is a success financially, they keep pushing it.

They are a company that won't take many misses before simply doing something else. That is part of the reason they are mostly a pachinko/casino company now. Cheaper to produce and earns multitudes more money than an original game like the Metal Gear or Castlevania franchise.

I just wish they would balance it out with games fans want though, rather than just using the characters and such to protect their ownership.
