I was horrible at this game in the arcades. Probably a combination of having to stand on a milk crate to see the screen and reach controls and my being quite young at that point. I did love this game on Atari 2600 and the myriad of other ports I have played over the years.
There is a newer take on Missile Command available for Android and iPhone and it is quite good. It has In-App Purchases and other crap but considering it is a mobile game and all...
Seriously though, that mobile remake is actually good. I played for a good 5 or 6 hours over a weekend, as I could play, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I only uninstalled it due to having to install other games to cover.
I remember reading about that Game Room offering and being so jealous. At the time my newest console was a Sega Dreamcast and a Sony PSP. By the time I was able to get in on Game Room it was already shut down and a memory for most.
