The monetization part is what a lot of people, not just wrestlers and promotions, get turned off by. I have no idea why outside a few responses over it. Basically, they love the idea of making money off of their content but then get discouraged when it is "based on what others think of it". Everyone wants a guarantee. My only response so far to that mindset is "it pays more than Facebook".

For wrestlers and promotions, social media is more about reaching the fans and getting them in seats at shows and buying merchandise. They see that as a better avenue to earn than Hive or Steemit, it may be, it may not be. The amount of work involved in bringing content to Hive or Steemit or the other sites like these is rather minimal.

I have explained that they can simply copy/paste their posts on other social media here and fans will support it. Obviously making exclusive content will garner more earnings and respect from the community here.

The tokens idea and such is something that would be awesome but right now, I think it is WAY beyond what others see as valuable. Much like other things that took off later, those that adopt these things now stand a far better chance of success later.

People called Bezos crazy when he started Amazon. Gates was probably in hot water with family over quitting college. People that invested in Bitcoin early on were called stupid and participating in a scam of some sort. The list goes on and on.

For every success story like that there are thousands of failed attempts at the same problem. The difference is, pushing forward and staying the course. Support will come.

I would rather interact with less than 10 people here on Hive discussing games or wrestling than I would thousands on Facebook. Why? Because of respect. Here you can have a heated discussion without it turning stupid and degrading to name calling. Try that on any other social media platform.

I have toyed with the idea of hiring some writers that are experienced with booking matches, or hiring separate people for each, and creating a fictional wrestling league here on Hive. Have the matches written out, have champions, etc. Maybe even do some "choose your own adventure" style stuff (not just in wrestling but other areas of entertainment too).

The list is almost endless as to what you can do on Hive. We just have to do it.
