Oh yeah, limitations of the hardware rear their heads rather quickly, much more so on the Atari 2600 than other classic consoles. Many of the independent homebrew titles we see for the Atari 2600 are never finished. They either hit a snag because the title is too ambitious for the hardware (SF2, MK, Castlevania, etc) or the developer gets bored and simply stops updating the community on their work. That last one, the lack of updates has a sliver of a chance that they go into super focus mode and continue working but I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen that has happened.
I still love checking out what could have been and what people are pulling off, even if it is likely what we initially see is all we will get.
