By now, everyone has heard about this game called Stray. It launched on Steam recently and has been met with great interest. Well, the modding community has already gotten to work creating additional characters to play as, maybe you are not a fan of playing a cat for some reason. Many modders are inserting their own pets into the game which is awesome. This mod though, GTA meets Stray, I am not sure why. It is a mod but well, you will see.
GTA and Stray the scary crossover no one wanted
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a title that has entered the zeitgeist. Even non gamers know about this title. Like how Tetris and even Mario before, GTA has earned its position in language and the world. Stray is apparently well on its way to earning that status.
Both titles are open world affairs. Go where you want when you want. Figure things out. Avoid trouble for the most part. Very similar in style.
The big difference is, in GTA your goals can be ignored, and chaos ensues as you wish. See a car you want, go take it. You know the style of game.
Stray is a completely different animal, no pun intended, though. You are not armed, you cannot get armed, and you must mostly avoid things rather than confront them.
Stealth plays a big part in both titles as well. Just different levels of it.
The mod in question
Fans of GTA San Andreas probably remember CJ. Well, thanks to sir_galahad172 over on Nexusmods, you can now lead CJ through the world of Stray.
It is as horrifying as it may sound.
CJ must fit into the model of a cat so you can probably guess this is a contortionist’s nightmare.
Response on Nexusmods has been interesting to disturbed and even requests for a xenomorph.
