Command & Conquer was a unique release in the mid 1990’s. Real Time Strategy (RTS) games were not new, just this game took off with fans. Was it the locale, military themed, or was it the improved approach to the genre? Command & Conquer touched base with many fans and went onto be a massive success. Now almost three decades later, Electronic Arts (EA) has released a remastered version of the first game, with expansions. They also included Red Alert just because they can.
In this remastered collection you will get Command & Conquer and the various expansions. On top of all that, you will also get Red Alert. Anyone that remembers the beginnings of the Command & Conquer franchise will tell you, that is a lot of content.
That means Covert Operations, Counterstrike, and The Aftermath are included in this package. Plus, EA has apparently stated they will be remastering more Command & Conquer content.
Not only that, EA has saw fit to have the user interface upgraded and improved. Controls have also been updated as well as modding support. EA has even released a source code to GitHub.
Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is available right now on Steam and Origin. If you are a purist then check eBay for copies of the original games.
