Doom is a title that is above reproach for most gamers. Me included. There are just too many great things about it from mods to just clean balls to the wall action of vanilla Doom. What if I told you there was a mod that mixes Doom and Silent Hill, or if you want to squint a bit, the Upside Down from Netflix’s Stranger Things, into a blender and throws you in the middle of it all to fend for yourself. Well, here is that mod.
Silent Hill mod for Doom is definitely a wild looking endeavor. Thanks to YouTube creator, Justice4Daisy, we get to see this mod in action starting with the second level. J4D is a huge Doom fan, check out their YouTube channel if you are too.
As with anything Silent Hill related, you are going to be dealing with a lot of fog. I mean, a lot. When you hit the download page, please take heed from the mod creator on how to make the fog look right when you play this.
There are even some areas outside, surrounded by trees and vegetation. Not “Doom” aesthetics by any means. A literal Hell on Earth is going on here.
The story of the first Silent Hill revolved around rescuing your daughter from horrific monstrosities. I don’t think you will be saving her here. This mod feels more like the aftermath, the unhinged rage of a man that has lost everything.
It feels like you are finally beyond your breaking point and now will be unleashing fresh baked Hell on those monstrosities for what they took from you.
