I worked for years behind the scenes tracking down rights holders. It is not an easy task, sometimes you have to convince people/companies that they indeed own the rights to some of these older titles.

There is definitely a lot of work to be done on those backgrounds. The backgrounds are arguably as important as the bullet patterns and enemy design in these types of games.

I played, and enjoyed Bloodlines quite a bit. I remember getting stuck on the tower climb, only a couple times ever reaching the bat at the top.
