I had to go to the hospital recently. My arm started to blow up on me; it got red, swollen, hot, and painful.
The day that I got it I was done at the beach for Taijiquan class. I was playing with my teacher in the water when he laid down on me. I must have picked up this infection from the sand scratching my skin because I know I didn't hit a rock.
By one o'clock is when the problems started with my elbow. I thought I could take care of it with some ice. You could see steam when I put the ice on my arm. My elbow continued to get hotter.
The situation looks to be resolved for the most part. I am on pill antibiotics for the next eight days. I am not able to use my arm very much because of the burning sensation that happens when I use those muscles.
The next day I went to the emergency room where they took all sorts of blood tests. (I think I learned how to shoot up 8-). Eventually, they told me I have cellulitis.
Very funny! A week before I contracted cellulitis there is a person who came to the YMCA with cellulitis on his leg. His leg was in way worse shape than my arm had gotten. He didn't go to the emergency room when he noticed it beginning to happen so his leg started to blister and puff up even more. I haven't seen him around for the past two weeks. I hope he got it taken care of.
After all of the basic blood tests, an IV was inserted into the arm and antibiotics were pumped into my system for the next two days I was there.
I didn't get good sleep. I was being poked and prodded at least once an hour to every four hours. I had to tell them not to bother me from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. because I am not a person that likes being woken up from my sleep.
