I'm new to Steemit.
I have always been an older lady, being dragged into modern times kicking and screaming. I still have a (gasp) flip top phone much to the embarrassment of my friends and family :)
But I have been trying to be a little more adventurous starting at my 49th birthday, when I jumped out of a plane (with a nice gentleman tied firmly to my back!). It was fantastic/Scary! (But once was enough).
Since then I have had a few more more adventures imposed upon me as I had to end my 32 year career in textiles due to two liver transplants (the first one failed). I was 51 for the first one and 52 for the second one, two weeks later. Best birthday ever!?
After a year and a half of hell, my life finally normalized to some extent and I am still here and realize that I have been (and am still am) blessed. I firmly support (and am fervently grateful for) organ donation.
I am interested in people, cats, writing...stories and poetry alike, and cooking and oh yeah, eating.
Lastly, I'm pretty fond of a fellow "new-ish" member, Jon Knight. You might have see him running around here.
Anyhow, I look forward to contributing a few recipes and stories and to checking out yours.
