Labirintus, the underground world in Budapest, Hungary

If you like from time to time to become an explorer of more dubious places full of history, today we will have the opportunity to discover together an amazing place located under the most important city in Hungary, namely Budapest.
I have to admit that when you visit Hungary and especially when you are in Budapest for a few days, you think about visiting the most famous tourist attractions, exactly the same thing we did, but besides these mega well-known attractions where especially now after the pandemic tourists started to storm these places, we also visited a slightly scarier place,Labirintus.
Let's discover the Labirintus
Where is it located?
Labirintus is located somewhere under the Citadel Hill and the Fishermen's Bastion in Budapest, on a very busy street (you have to be very careful to notice the entrance), legends say that Vlad Tepes was imprisoned here.
Have you ever heard of Count Dracula?
Surely many of you have read Bram Stoker's novel, in which the main character is Count Dracula, the story unfolding somewhere in the area of Transylvania (Romania), if you haven't read it yet, I recommend you to do so, standing by the fireplace next to a glass of wine, the credit is worth it.
In the area of Transylvania (Romania) there is a castle called Bran Castle, where Count Dracula is supposed to have lived, as a parenthesis to this I can say that this year on Halloween, the famous Elon Musk held a huge party with famous celebrities from all over the world.
To return to Labirintus, if you decide to visit this place, be careful that the entrance is directly from the street, if you are in a car it is possible that you will pass by the entrance and not notice it.
I recommend you to use the GPS, you can leave the car in one of the parking lots on the side of the streets, very important if you somehow decide to visit this place on the weekend, the parking lots in the vast majority of areas in Hungary are free.
That's what we did, we left the car in a parking lot and took it for a walk on the streets of Budapest, with the help of the GPS we immediately reached the destination, as I said, the entrance is made directly from the street on some rather steep stairs, the difference from level being quite high.
We started to go down the stairs looking for the ticket office, which we couldn't find, already as we were moving inside we started to feel the humid air and a specific smell, in the end we found the ticket office which was exactly at the end of the stairs, a little scary place, with rather poor lighting, as if I felt a current of cold air tickling me.
I was happy when I saw that I can also pay the entrance with the card, the price of a ticket for one person was 3000HUF/7.5euro, after I finished visiting Labirintus I can say that it was a small price compared to what this has to offer place.
That's it, I paid the ticket and surprisingly I didn't receive any map of the place, but after taking a few steps I noticed that there was an information board on the wall that shows you where you are at that moment and from there you could decide where to continue your exploration of the labyrinth (how twisted the corridors there were, I can say it was like a labyrinth).
Following the corridors that looked more like a cave, I came across
some rooms where there were wax figurines impeccably dressed in very old costumes, most likely in those days these costumes were worn by important people of the state.
Walking along these corridors, at one point I came across a section that was not lit at all, from time to time I heard screams, I saw a light from the phone, at first glance I had the feeling that the lighting in that area, and the existing one, was faulty, it wasn't too bad, we were sinking into the dark and when I turned on the light from the phone I met a person (of course I was scared to death), I asked him why he was there. there is no light and he told me that there is an unlit trail where we can discover the ability to orient ourselves in the dark using only a string that has been tied to the edge of the wall.
From my own experience I can tell you that it is quite difficult to orient yourself in the dark using only a string, not knowing what is in front of you, for this reason I stepped on those who were in front of me, it was a dubious experiment , to hear voices in front of you (in different languages, only not in English), not to understand what they say.

All the areas you pass through here under the city have plaques with descriptions, they are very interesting to read, and I sat and read them but I don't exactly remember to write them in detail, so I leave it up to you. you discover it, here underground you go through different states, you go from light to weaker light, you go through a place where there is no light at all, then there is a place where these tunnels are in the fog, in the silence you can hear classical music, then go out again, say you're interesting.
Somewhere on these corridors you can see, besides those wax figurines, graves of some personalities and a throne, probably someone was using it, so I couldn't resist going up to take some pictures, hehe.
