In the Steem world, is it looked down upon to share videos from YouTube?

A little bit, yes.

Is using Dtube encouraged as an act of supporting one's own? What's your perspective, and how do you approach this issue?

Yes, that seems to be the mentality around here. I don't do anything about it since I'm not a video creator.

What are your experiences uploading to Dtube? Mine have been mixed. I have had some technical issues publishing content. Once published, a couple of videos have done okay; most haven't done too well.

I've tried a few times. It's a bit confusing and I wasn't sure how the post would look after published. There's certainly a lot of room for improvement.

What are your impressions as a Dtube consumer? Do you find Dtube an enjoyable, smooth platform with good content? I have seen pornography featured on my home screen, which I disliked. Also, am I reading the numbers correctly for the top Dtube videos? Do they really have millions of likes and are earning thousands of DTC?!

Yes, as a consumer it's pretty good. Using it to create and publish content is another story... which is strange, one would thing they would prioritize that.

There are lots of people using it. @priyanarc, for instance, is very active on DTube and she's usually available to help new users. Maybe she can give you a little help.
