I've never liked the media/attention getting publicity stunts that Miley Cyrus has participated in. They are over the top for the sake of being over the top, which is boring, and she is often crude and makes a fool of herself.
When it comes to being a part of the media circus (the worst part of the music industry) Miley is among the worst of the offenders.
But music is music, it stands apart from all of that and can't be tarnished by it. And for that reason I have always had at least some respect for Miley because of her voice and her natural ability as a singer.
I recently listened to Miley sing Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and my respect for her was taken to a whole new level.

The thing that impresses me so much about her version of this song is not how well she sings it now, but how much better she will be able to sing it in the future.
I want to hear her sing this song again in 10 to 15 years!
