I have to start off by saying WOW! Being a Liverpool fan I watched this game very closely with much excitement and a lot of nail biting moments.
Liverpool started off so well with Chamberlain’s first goal at the 9th minute which is usually Liverpool’s usual stance of always taking the lead which keeps us Liverpool fans on the edge of our seats praying that the team is able to put more goals behind the net or defend and maintain the score.
The first half of the game was very exciting where I saw a completely new Liverpool with hunger in the way the team moved forward. I for one can say that Coutinho is a brilliant player however the Liverpool that I saw yesterday was a new and definitely improved side who played as if there was no adjustments to the team.
The first half saw an equaliser and definitely some cursing from me however I still had some positivity and hoped that they keep the same momentum in the second half and take over this game.
Into the second half the game transformed so much that it got me off my seat and up in front of the television awaiting goals from Liverpool and then it started, the goals started pouring in!
Firmino scored an amazing goal in the 59 minute with a little flick. Two minutes later Mane gets what I think is a well deserved break and scores a cracker. By this moment I was hoping that Salah could get a goal in as he is very hard working and hungry for a goal and then it comes, he scores at the 68th minute and I lose my mind going crazy being so sure that the game is in the bag for Liverpool.
And then my worst night mare starts, Liverpool start conceding and City is playing so hard putting the ball behind the net. At this moment my heart starts racing and I literally feel that I am watching the clock in slow motion. I had so many cringe moments but boy was I glad when the final whistle was blown and Liverpool walks away with a win.
I love the Klopp however I am not too happy with the madness of playing Karius ahead of Mignolet and I felt that had Mignolet been on the field that he would have performed much better and keep me on my seat instead of running around headless.
All in all, I am very proud to be a Liverpool supporter knowing that they are the only team to have defeated Man City this season and all I can say is let’s hope to see a title win from Liverpool next season should they keep this new found spirit.
