I'm becoming one of those types of people who probably never would have made it in Stallin's time.
It's not that I would have disagreed completely with movements of the time. It is that I would have been too honest about everything.
But I could see myself quietly fighting bad ideas in my own way. Maybe I would have survived by moving, or simply predicting danger and just doing my best to influence right without upsetting things. There needs to be good people in all places to quietly make what difference they can.
But I also could see myself getting myself killed.
I really admire those people of Hitler's time would constantly put their lives at risk to move jews or jewish children to safety. I hope I would have been that awesome.
Thank goodness for freedom of speech and the rest.
