Do you believe that music can unlock potential and change lives? Why?

Playing music, learning an instrument, while probably not changing any lives might certainly unlock potentials, as would any other repeated activity that takes concentration and willpower. Listening to music on the other hand probably doesn't unlock potentials, but the lyrics may contain something that changes one's life, either the way one looks at or feel about things, or the way one goes about living.
