How many upvotes can I make?
I'm still new here, still making mistakes, and still learning every day. I'm also having fun, so even the mistakes I make will not scare me away. :)
Correcting past mistakes can sometimes be tedious though. Like when I finally understood why my voting mana kept shrinking, despite me adding new HP.
I knew that every upvote took some of my voting mana, but I assumed it was a set amount for each vote, that adding more HP would allow me to make more upvotes, and that it'd replenish in 3 days. All wrong!
Upvoting at 100% power takes 1/50 of my remaining mana. So upvoting at 10% power should take 0.1*1/50. I hope that's how it works, because that's what I've based my plan on getting back to 100% mana on - mostly voting at less than 10% until I get back to 100% mana again, and counting how many upvotes I actually make per day, so I can adjust the power for that.
More HP just means that my votes are worth more, not that I can make more votes.
It takes 5 days for the mana to regenerate, not 3.
Since I like joining giveaways, and I upvote each and every one of them to keep track, I need to be able to make 40-50 upvotes a day. Plus maybe 4 or 5 extra for other posts I like, whether it be a recipe, a story about a beautiful sunset or some HIVE tutorial I think was informative and useful.
So I pulled up google sheets to make some calculations. The numbers shown are made without considering that the mana replenishes slowly over 5 days, instead of suddenly once every 120 hours. I'm assuming that I get 20% of my total mana back every day - maybe I'm wrong? So to keep on top, and make my upvotes worth something, I never want to go below 80% mana.
This then is how many upvotes I can make in a day before going below 80%, at different levels of voting power:

If my new assumptions are also wrong, please correct me in the comments! Also, if there's a way on ecency to permanently set my vote% instead of dragging the slider around for each and every upvote, please tell me where to find it!
