Good evening to you all and welcome again to another edition of the hive learners contest, today was fun, and also tiring, kinda did some matchmaking today, well that's a story for another day😁
Being book smart is one thing that I have always tried to be when I was much younger, I always felt it's a wise thing to be book smart, I remember when I was in high school and I was always topping my class despite being the youngest, this always brought problem for me among my classmates, one time I had scored a very high mark in my math test which made the math teacher ask everyone to give me a round of applaud, and then they weren't responding, he had asked all of them to knee down, and he disciplined them, and thus made them harbor a grudge against me, I was so always alone at some point in my life in high school.
And then something happened. They ganged up and beat me up, just because I wrote their name on the noise-making list I was asked to write by the teacher. That really pained me a lot and then I decided , though being book smart is good I also have to be street smart. I made a few friends who I could learn being street smart from and there I knew that being book smart doesn't guarantee survival in a world where everyone is street smart.
It is good to be street smart in certain cases. I have had some fair share of experiences that I had to be street smart in them, many have lost fights just because they aren't able to defend themselves well when a situation comes up.
I had to be street smart one time also, when I was working for a man at his office, it was a soccer bet shop, my boss had made advances at me ever since I had started working for him, but I wasn't giving him and ears, and so he refused to pay me, he said I had incurred some from my working, at this point I knew I had to do something if I wanted to be paid, so I had done to his wife and became friendly with her and then after a while, I told her my boss her husband had not paid me yet and that I needed money to pay for an exam, she felt pity in me and said she would loan me the money until he paid, and after I had gotten the money from her, I stopped working and then called her that I had traveled for something urgent and asked her to collect her money from her husband ( that is my salary).
That was a smart move for me cause I knew I wouldn't have been able to collect my salary if I wanted to act cool. But being street smart I was able to get my money without stress.🤣.
Sometimes one needs to be street smart cause of some certain situations that is likely to come up.
