I try to tell the truth when it comes to very serious situations because as the saying goes, the truth always sets you free but I can always tell a white lie when it comes to covering for my friends, I'm built like that.

I've covered up for them in so many situations that I've lost count. Some of these situations involved going as much as faking a friend's voice just so his mother would think we were hanging out together. I can't deny the fact that lying isn't good and we're better off without it but let he who is without sin throw the first stone.

If it is push comes to shove, the truth always comes out eventually.

The last edition for the weeks asks about any situation we told the truth and wished we had lied.

I have lots of those. Sometimes it pushes you not want to tell the truth but I'm a christian and I fear God plus my mom doesn't like liars.

What I'm about to tell you happened just sometime early this year, I was at a birthday party with a friend (I don't usually get invited to a lot of parties) so I thought I'd be off my best behavior so maybe I'd get invited to the next one.

It was all fun and games until it was time to share food. I got it early, the food but it was very little and it didn't really go a long way. The good thing was there was plenty of leftovers after everybody was served.

I really wish I could live my life not trying to impress girls. A server passed and asked if I gotten food to eat. Normally I would have said no but there were a lot of factors present. One was the text that I wanted to be of good behavior and the other was the girl sitting next to me knew I had eaten already.

I was truthful and where did that get me? She passed and gave the food to someone else. The girl beside me didn't care though, she lied about not eating and got two extra places of food. I wished I lied too, the person I was trying to impress was eating to her fill and there I was, hungry and truthful.

From that day, i made it my personal mission to get extra food when I had the opportunity even if it was the queen sitting next to me.

Another situation similar to this was telling the truth to my teacher after I forgot to do an assignment in hopes that he'd reward my honesty but no, I was still punished in front of the whole class.

If I had lied, I would've easily gotten out of that situation unharmed and unpunished. Lying isn't good, it can get you in a lot of trouble and the truth does set you free sometimes but lying can come in handy when you need to get food.

A quick question before I end this post.

Would you believe a liar that tells you he's a liar?
