Crypto is becoming an unhealthy obsession for me, lately. I spend way too much time reading about and watching videos about Bitcoin and altcoins. This would be appropriate, I think, if I were a trader.
Given that I dollar cost average my buys every payday, there really isn't much for me to do other than watch prices go up and down. It is exciting to see announcements that company XYZ has invested gazillions of dollars into Bitcoin. However, this doesn't alter my schedule. I only have so much budgeted to buy more crypto every paycheck.
I wonder how many others have this affliction?
Rather than watching videos and reading blog posts, I could be spending time working. Or I could be writing. Both of these would produce more income or save me money that I don't have to pay others to do work for me.
Another reason why my daily consumption of crypto news is wasteful is that it is often the same news over and over by different people. I'm going to have to go on a news diet. Then, I'll have to fill in the time doing more productive things.
How do you keep yourself in check?
