I have been having a lot of long days, I recently graduated and still looking for a job. Even though I don't have a lot on my plate right now (for someone who is always working on something), I'm finding the days quite good. I am not good in words so I decided to make this as where I'll post the photos I took and will take in the days to come.
But first, let me tell you about myself (even just a little bit).
For five years, I lived in a place far from where I grew up, it is where I went to college. I am from the Philippines and I grew up in the suburbs. I loved how my mornings start with the crow of the rooster. When I went to college, I had to move out. I was glad it was somewhere like our home. When I graduated, it ached my heart to leave that place. And even though days have already passed, I still find myself calling it as my second home.
When I was in college, I'd always find myself running after something (errands I have to do, stuff I have to buy, things that occupy a student's mind). I rarely find myself just walking slowly and enjoying every bit of the things that I find on my way. That is why I treasure the days I get to walk slow, breathing in the moment. Here's something that definitely made me stop walking. I just had to capture how the clouds formed that way, how there's a bus on the stop lane and how the silhouette of the trees along the pathway had perspective. And even though I know somewhere else, this could also be seen, I loved that I was in that place during that time.
I've seen so many glorious sunsets, yet, it was the place I had the most beautiful ones. Days have gone by, some days I missed taking pictures of the painted skies and some days I was just too busy. I think for some days I was in a hurry to get out of that place especially when days get rough. But last June, as I went up to one of the places I go to (a rooftop of a five-storey building), I had the chance to take another frame of the skies I looked up to for the last five years.
The view was much glorious in person. It was the week of my graduation. I'm in the middle of packing my things, clearing from the university and attending rehearsals for the upcoming graduation ceremony. During that time, I knew that when the week's over, I'd be back to my home --the place I grew up in.
On the day of the graduation, we were blessed to march down on an open field (there's a built-in canopy though). I loved it. Night before the graduation I was praying not to rain because it always does. And gladly, it did not rain. Everything was bright and beautiful. That day, I took the last painted sky of my life as a student.
When I look at it right now, it seems ordinary. It's just the usual color of the sky when the sun is about to set. But, believe me, there's that complete ordinary day we always treasure just because it marked a new chapter. For me it was that day.
No matter how good and bad the days were, I am grateful that it happened in the town of Los Baños [Laguna]. It's the place that will always remind me of home.
