Growing up I was always afraid of dark places. It was because of all the horror/suspense movies I have watched, all the screaming occurs when the setting's dark. Also, the fact that I can't see what's surrounding me puts me to disadvantage. To be honest, until now, I'd choose the bright white light over complete darkness. But, here's why I have exceptions.

What I love about dim skies is that colors become more vibrant.
The contrast of the dark surroundings gives such strong impression on the light, no matter what its source is.

If I get to see this, then I wouldn't mind if it's pitch black.
