Hello everyone, today I decided to make a reading table with matches boxes, it was lots of fun and I hope you like it.
Materials used for the reading table;
- cardboard paper (a light green and yellow colour)
- Scissors
- Carton paper
- Pencil
- 4 empty matchboxes
- Glue
- Beads
- Ruler
- Adhesive paper
Step 1;
With my pencil, I draw three outlines of the matchbox on the carton paper.
And cut them out like you see below;
Step 2;
I stack the matchboxes to form a chest of 4 drawers, with the carton paper sandwiched in between them, like below; I glue together as I stack.
Step 3;
I separate the outer matchboxes from the inner one like below;
Step 4;
I cut out four strips of yellow cardboard measuring about 16cm by 1cm;
The strip should cover the matchbox like this below, then I wrap it around and glue.
Step 5;
This is the result after folding the matchboxes with the strips of yellow cardboard.
Step 6;
It's time to cover the matchboxes and carton paper, with the light green cardboard to improve the aesthetics.
Step 7;
I cut the cardboard paper to enable me cover the rough edges.
Step 8;
This is what I get after covering the matchboxes with cardboard paper.
Step 9;
Then I cut out the carton paper to make the table top and fold with cardboard paper, using glue.
Step 10;
Then I glue the table top to the matchboxes chest of drawers as shown below.
Step 11;
I form the legs of the table by rolling up the cardboard papers.
Step 12;
Then I glue the legs to the table.
Step 13;
Then I glue little pieces of paper to form the knobs of the drawers.
Step 14;
I attach the beads to the legs of the table, for stability.
Step 15;
I cut out two smaller rectangular shapes as shelves and folds them with cardboard paper.
Step 16;
Then I glue the first shelve to the bottom.
And then I glue the second shelve to the upper part.
Then the final result;
