Throwback to my travel memory in 2016 when I was still working in Singapore, I often spent the weekend flying to Kuala Lumpur to travel and visit my friend. It takes only 1 hour to fly directly from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. I had great experiences and time in the capital of Malaysia.
I'm very impressed by Kuala Lumpur Airport. As a hub for many international flights, it is the largest airport in the country and one of the busiest airports in Southeast Asia. It's about 50 km from the city center.
There are many means of transportation like bus, train, and taxi, so it's convenient to travel around.
- Bus is recommended as the cheapest means of transportation to get around. (Airport Coach, Start Shuttle, Jetbus)
- Train: it's a bit more expensive than the bus, but I'm very into using the train in KL Central, and I also wanted to compare it with MRT in Singapore. Wow, I love it; it runs pretty smoothly. (Express and Transit both open from early morning 5:00-5:50 to midnight 00:30-00:59)
- Taxi: I prefer using Grab and Uber (I'm not sure whether Uber is still available in KL but no more in VN now) as they have a meter.
The weather is the same as in Singapore, Thailand, or Viet Nam. It's pretty hot.
Where did I visit? Let's explore it !!!
TWIN TOWERS
Well, I'm sure when it comes to Kuala Lumpur, we all know the most popular landmark, and this one of the world's tallest towers (altitude of 1,500 meters). This is a special symbol and one of the wonders in the country that attracts thousands of travelers to check-in and take pictures. And so do I 馃槂馃槏 I remember that I was here on the weekend and very crowded, so I didn't buy the ticket to visit inside.
I remember that a small boy outside helped me take this pic /sup>
The twin towers more gorgeous at night 鈾ワ笍
KL Central
I really love to walk around the central and explore everything. There are many steel skyscrapers, big shopping, bustling markets, big shopping malls, and historical sites that you will love with the tourists' diversity and multicultural charm.馃槏
If you are a shopaholic, you will want to spend the whole day purchasing everything. It's a shopping paradise where you can also find a large number of luxury boutiques like Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc. 馃檪 Let's visit the night local markets also full of electronics, clothing, accessories, and foods.
I like the architecture and ancient buildings around the center. It's different from other cities I've seen
Pavilion Shopping Mall nestled in the heart of Bukit Bintang and is a famous place for shopping hunters
Nightlife is probably interesting. High buildings, lights, music, bar, beer club, locals, ex-pats, tourists make the city lively and bustling
There are many museums and historical sites around to visit, and Merdeka Square is worth stopping by. This is a large square area and has many attractive buildings around.
When I was young haha
Batu Caves
A must-see when in Malaysia. Located 14km north of the city center, Batu Caves is a well-known attraction. It's said that this is the most mystical and sacred place. It has existed for 400 million years so far. You will learn and feel much of the culture of the country when visiting here. To enter this cave, I walked up nearly 300 steps, challenging but worth it. It was really cool when you reach the top and discover things inside.
As I know, all stairs are now painted like a rainbow. It's very so colorful !! I would definitely return to visit when possible. 鈾ワ笍
I love this pic. Stunning and peaceful 鈾ワ笍
When I visited, I wasn't so lucky as this place was under construction
Food: Um, honestly, I'm not a big fan of curry and dried food, so I did not try much local food when I was there.
I was delighted with the journey, except I was asked a lot at the custom before entry. I'm not sure if it's the same for all passport holders, but make sure you have return tickets, accommodation booking, financial proof ( or Visa card) and even your traveling plan to show customs officer in case they ask. 馃檪
It was pretty long ago and I'm happy that I can finally write it down and share with you a bit of my experience and memory of my lovely trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful week ahead :))
