Of course I wanted the EIP, that's no secret. It didn't just happen, I pushed it for over a year and finally the leadership of this chain were seeing its merits. Maybe you deem that attempting to have sensible economic reform to encourage honest voting is a lower priority but many consider it to be of paramount importance.
There seems to be an echo chamber of people who keep implying there's some ulterior motive behind the EIP but the reality is the only thing that's a real threat to my ability to self vote, or at least my ability to launder my own votes, is my own fucking proposal.
As to the funding of the SPS, evidently I've always preferred it to come from vesting interest. I speculated that the abrupt cessation in discussion over where the funding ought to come from may have been primarily due to Ned's position in casually stating that he wouldn't mind if it came from author/curation. But as stated it's merely my own speculation. I just wish they would consider it come from vesting interest more seriously, as to me, it's obviously the better choice.
There are pragmatic reasons to push multiple measures in the same HF, of which you're no doubt aware. The EIP doesn't adversely affect the SPS in any way.
