Last night before falling asleep, I thought a little about Steemit. What I thought about and where I see Steemit in the future, you will read here!
◉ Steemit: A combination of blockchain and social media
Can be described as "blockchainbased social media platform" was founded in March 2016 and reached already in July 2016 increasing awareness. So far Steemit seems to split the blockchain community. Nonetheless, the platform provides many newcomers to the blockchain technology.
Behind the platform are @Dan Larimer, founder of Bitshares and @Ned Scott, a former financial analyst. With Steemit, they want to give people a way to create their own content, promote it or comment on other content while earning money.
Steemit is much more than just a website with which you can earn some cash. The Steemit blockchain is based on a technology developed by Larimer called Graphene, which allows the use of specific blockchain applications.
◉ What is the future of Steemit in my eyes?
We are still pretty much at the beginning. Steemit is just over a year old. Since Steemit is an Open Source anyone can work on Steemit. This is something very special, because almost no other social network acts on this principle. Every day Steemit works and the entire community works on Steemit. Changes I expect:
- More user-friendly interface (The surface is not bad, but can be upgraded.)
- Implementation of Steemit.chat on Steemit.com
- Transparent than now (Steemit is transparent, but I think that it is transparent on the site itself without third-party.)
- Steemit.com is currently in English. I believe in a version where you can set which language is displayed.
▶ ︎ What are the consequences of these changes?
In any case, many more people will become aware of Steemit. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, Steemit will stay much more. Because of the chat function, it will feel much more like a social network.
▶ ︎ What makes Steemit so special?
- Steemit offers us the opportunity to be remunerated through our content. On which social network do we already have that?
- Thanks to the blockchain we are able to publish censorship-free content! This is also something unique from Steemit!
- We as the community on Steemit always stick together! So far I have not seen any hate, which is normal for social networks.
▶ ︎ Where do I see Steemit in 5 years?
Steemit is becoming much more popular. It is like Twitter, Facebook or similar. used by the majority. The price for 1 Steem will be between $ 20 - $ 30 (no technical analysis - just from my feeling). Many celebrities become aware of Steemit and start using Steemit, which makes Steemit more popular. (Hopefully)
