I have been feeling strong inspiration in myself since last night as well as feeling sorry. It's not just about being inspired, it's about imagining yourself in a person's success story. I returned home late last night, fascinated by the realistic picture of the struggle of a well-known person and his exuberance for success.
But I'm not talking about his struggles here, I'm just going to write about his success today. I will highlight his success with as strong a feeling as he was.
He is saying....
When my friends became fascinated with programming, I found myself wondering how it all worked behind the scenes. However, what mesmerized me most was how small processors and other components functioned together. My passion fueled me toward materials science, and it allowed me to go further down the fascinating fields of Material Science. My curiosity and dedication helped me earn a Bachelor of Science in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), the country's oldest and most prestigious engineering institute.
I graduated with a CGPA of 3.80 on a scale of 4.00 (equivalent to 83.2% marks) and earned 3rd place in a class of 59 graduating students. However, I performed much better during my last two years, taking most of our core courses. I maintained an average of 3.95 during this time, which was more than any of my classmates. Moreover, I received the Dean's List award and University Merit Scholarship for my consistent performance.
Before going for my higher studies, I wanted to explore the different fields of Material Science and Engineering to know what interested and intrigued me the most. I studied the fundamentals during my undergraduate years and was unsure about which branch to follow. I was then fortunate enough to gain a Research Assistant position in the Glass and Ceramics Engineering (GCE) department of BUET in a pilot project to fabricate CIGS based semi-transparent photovoltaic device. I was tasked to review the literature of CIGS and perovskite solar cells. As part of setting up a new lab, my responsibilities further included finalizing different equipment specifications: Magnetron sputtering tool and photoluminescence spectroscopy. I was also directly involved in purchasing chemicals, cylinders, and other devices to conduct the research project.
Immediately after graduation, I worked voluntarily on a research project for one of my teachers. As a result, I prepared and finalized the manuscript titled "Room temperature structural, magnetic, optical and electrical aspects of low-level Ba-Cr co-substituted BiFeO3 nanoparticles", which will be published in a reputed Q1 journal. Significant enhancement in magnetic and optical properties of BFO was observed in my prepared nanoparticles.
My academic performance boosted my confidence and persuaded me to pursue higher material science and engineering studies. Thankfully, my research experience helped me gather the knowledge and skills needed for my journey forward. I am most fascinated by nanomaterials and thin films because of their potential for electronic and energy applications.
