"The investment costs going from Silver league to Gold league are at least on par with those going from Gold league to Max level, and you could make a pretty persuasive argument that even in absolute BCX or absolute $$$ terms, the cost of upgrading to Gold league is actually slightly MORE than the cost of upgrading to Max level."
I think the monetary aspect is what people are more commonly referring to. Looking at % Additional Investment is a good way to look at it, but I think overall $$ cost is a crucial metric that needs to be included.
Keeping prices consistent for my example.. Leveling a Rare card from max silver (BCX 25) to max Gold (BCX 60) is another 2.4x on your initial investment.
| Rarity | Add'l Investment Over Silver |
|---|---|
| Common | 3.67x |
| Rare | 2.4x |
| Epic | 3.2x |
| Legendary | 2x |
Now let's plug in some "middle of the road-ish" numbers..
| Rarity | $/BCX | Silver BCX | Cost | Add'l Investment | Gold BCX | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | $0.05 | 60 | $3.00 | 3.67x | 220 | $11.00 |
| Rare | $0.65 | 25 | $16.25 | 2.4x | 60 | $39.00 |
| Epic | $1.25 | 10 | $12.50 | 3.2x | 32 | $40.00 |
| Legendary | $5.00 | 3 | $15.00 | 2x | 6 | $30.00 |
Chaos Legion Breakdown
| Rarity | # in Set |
|---|---|
| Common | 29 |
| Rare | 28 |
| Epic | 17 |
| Legendary | 22 |
Comparing those rough prices to the number of cards in the set helps to see how fast it all adds up.
