Hi, my dear friends!
Today was supposed to be the traditional Sunday review of the past week and I thought that I would again write about our routines and that nothing special is happening. How I would like it to be so ... But apparently the Universe decided that I was resting too much and decided to throw events at me.
I must say that at times our universe behaves like a real bitch. The problem is that when some events should happen in our life, it doesn’t matter for it how good or bad they are, because the energy release will be the same. But the catch is that bad events are easier to organize.
I know my dogs very well. I know them just fine! I spend 24/7 with them and no oddity in their behavior escapes my notice.
At first, I didn't like her look. There was something strange about it. Then breath. But when she stood up, she suddenly staggered strangely, then ten minutes later we were already rushing to the veterinary clinic, which was supposed to close in an hour.
Luckily our veterinarian, who knows my dogs perfectly, had her on duty. In the meantime, Star was sharply getting worse, she literally went to the other side in my arms. I was in a panic.
For the first time in my life, I saw an oxygen mask on my dog. Gradually, her gaze became meaningful again, she felt better. Tests showed inflammation of the liver and pancreas. How could this happen so quickly? In the morning she was cheerful and active and had an excellent appetite, and in the evening she was already lying like a limp rag.
She was on a drip for four endless hours. Drip-drip , life comes back, drip-drip , the pain goes away, drip-drip , we need to get home before curfew, drip-drip , what are the other dogs doing there, because I left them at home unattended, drip-drip-drip ...
We managed to get home 10 minutes before the curfew. Star was very weak. I did not sleep well at night, I was afraid that I would wake up, and she was dead. But that did not happen. In the morning she felt a little better and she even ate. Then we went back to the clinic.
Diagnosis of ascites, hepatitis, toxoplasmosis. And we're still waiting for tests for leptospirosis. It would seem that all my dogs are vaccinated, and that's it ... The difficulty is that toxoplasmosis is contagious for other dogs and for me. We all have tests ahead of us. The clinic bill was astronomical - more than $200, and this is just the beginning ... All next week I will be treating her at home on my own as prescribed by the doctor, and on February 23 we will go for a check-up.
Here we must understand one more thing, that this diagnosis means that there will be no complete recovery. We can only stabilize her condition and provide her with a normal life through diet and medication. What could be the reason? Where could she get infected? The most likely option seems to me to be mice, which are carriers of many diseases. It's strange, but at the beginning of the war, they literally attacked all the houses in our village. However, this hardly matters. We have what we have. Now we need to pull ourselves together and heal.
