Today I want to introduce you to a new inhabitant of my garden: Eschscholzia "Thai Silk".
I really like the idea of border flowers and I must admit that I have repeatedly tried to create a dense flowering border. But each time it ended in failure. This year, I just took a fairly large pack of seeds and covered the perimeter of the flower bed with them. And a miracle happened! I got what I wanted!
I think I figured out what my mistake was earlier. I tried to create a flower border by sowing one seed in a row. This is bullshit! It doesn't work that way, because not all the seeds germinate, some die, and in the end you get a few plants that don't even come close to looking like a flower border.
Of course this can work if you want a border from the hostas. Yes, hostas should definitely be planted neatly in a row. But not annuals. As for annuals, you'd better be generous and plant lots of seeds. You can remove the excess later, although I liked the result so much that I decided not to touch all this chaotic riot of flowers.
Now I'm wondering why I didn't try this before! Next year, I will definitely create some bright islands of annual flowers in my garden. Unfortunately, floriculture has the peculiarity that if you miss something or make a mistake, you have to wait a whole year to fix it.
