What does it mean to live with dogs? In fact, it's the most ordinary family. Only your furry children will never grow up. I've read different versions about the intelligence of dogs. On average, scientists agree that they are like four-year-old children. And although in fact I can say that this is just an average figure and the intelligence of your pets may be different, but the truth is that they are really children forever.
I have seventeen of them. And everyone has their own character, habits. Someone understands better, and someone worse (or, perhaps, pretends not to understand).
Sometimes I get angry. It's useless to deny it! But then I remind myself of the main rule: you can't attribute your thoughts and motives to them. They really know how to do harm, but don't look for malicious intent in it. It's just their way to get their way.
For example, our new one, Nora. She can stand and bark at someone endlessly. She can drive everyone, including me, to complete madness 😂 But in fact, she just demands that her place (or a place she considers her own) be freed up.
And sometimes they form bad habits. No, they don't start smoking outside the garage or playing cards 😂 But, for example, Bucks has been barking lately every time he goes out into the yard. He just runs and bars. For no reason. Maybe he's calling the others with him, I don't know. But in the morning it can create a problem... Or late in the evening, when you need to keep quiet.
