Good morning, my dear friends!
Today I decided to start the morning with a post on Hive. It seems to me a great start to the day and a new week.
I read that Einstein said "A quiet and modest life brings more joy than the pursuit of success and the constant anxiety that accompanies it". He gave this advice to a Tokyo courier instead of a tip in 1922.
Indeed, when I look at all modern methods of improving personal efficiency and excessive desire for career growth, I panic 馃. But then I think, how was I actually different from modern careerists when I was twenty years younger? I started my working day at eight in the morning and finished sometimes at eleven in the evening, I often worked without days off and vacation. And, most interestingly, I liked it.
Today I would never agree to such a rhythm of life. Many things that seemed critical to me when I was younger seem completely insignificant to me today. We change with age. Our attitude to life is changing, our values are changing. It doesn't mean our frivolity, we just get an experience that changes our view of things.
If twenty years ago I had been told that a quiet and modest life brings more joy than the pursuit of success and the constant anxiety accompanying it, I would say that it is definitely not for me. But today I fully agree with this statement.
Every thought, even if expressed by a very authoritative person, will be as important to us as it resonates in our heart and our experience. There is no absolute truth, because any position is justified by a huge number of objective and subjective factors, both explicit and hidden. That's why the actions and lifestyles of other people sometimes surprise us. And here tolerance is required to the limit, as long as it does not violate the law or your personal interests. But again, that's just my opinion 馃槈
