Tell me if I’m wrong but the way I understood this is they classified “avoidable” as any death over the death rate in the lowest state. So if Texas has 500 deaths and New York has 300, by their classification

RE: TIL the study that yeilded the concept of the alpha wolf (commonly used by people to justify aggressive behaviour) originated in a debunked model using just a few wolves in captivity. Its originator spent years trying to stop the myth to no avail.
Imagine studying prison population and then using it as a general model for human society. You would actually get something similar to captive wolves - including alpha/beta behaviours.
