Contributing, yes, but the problem is systemic. Millennial spending habits are just like their parents', but their median income is lower.

They also live in a more expensive world. Millennials spend four times as much on medical care than previous generations. Childcare is doubling the pace of inflation. And the price of going to college is increasing 8 times faster than wages, while the earnings gap between college grads and non-grads is at its widest.

Meanwhile, inequality's soaring, which is bad for everyone.
