When I taught geography, I loved talking about these Portuguese islands. I was fascinated by explaining to my students about the volcanic characteristics of the islands, the relief with peaks over 2,000 metres above sea level, the beauty of their landscapes, the numerous stories woven around their lakes, and much more.
