In this publication I will give my considerations around the passion I feel for the sport, its causes and the sensations that this physical activity produces in me.

My parents, sport and me
One of the factors that influenced my sports training was the fact that my parents have been athletes. In both cases, they had an intense sporting activity that was transmitted to the six children they had.
However, the one who continued with the sport activity and had better results was me. It must be that my father, who was also my coach, saw some of my qualities and exploited them to the maximum.
I achieved some results in school and youth categories and I left the sport activity for teaching. However, until today, sport has been one of my great passions and at the moment I dedicate myself to commenting on some sporting events and writing articles about sport.
My involvement in sports
I had the chance to be an athlete and practice several sports. What I did was nothing extraordinary and, like me, many children practiced several sports. In my case, athletics, basketball, baseball, chess, volleyball, judo, soccer and handball were among the most practiced, but I had the best results in athletics and basketball.
Later, in my more adult stage and in this one that I am living, I have had the possibility of being in national sports games as a spectator, in international sports fairs and in other sports activities.
However, an experience I had in 2023 that was a dream come true was to be able to broadcast live for Cuban television the final game of the Superior Basketball League of my country.
Five elements that demonstrate my passion for the sport
- Seeing how far the possibilities of human beings reach and the spirit of constant self-improvement. This gives me a level of adrenaline that I can't explain.
- In sports competitions I see myself represented by the athletes of my preference and I push with all my energy for them to win and/or achieve the best results.
- For the successes of my favorite athletes and the emotions and joy they cause me.
- Sports allow me to make sports analysis and articles, something that has contributed to my personal growth.
- For the examples of personal growth and effort that I have seen with people who have suffered from illnesses and thanks to sport have been able to improve their health.
A final comment
For me and for Cubans, sport is part of our cultural identity and is closely linked to our education and development.
In Cuba, sport is the essence and passion, especially when we see our people compete. It is as if each and every one of us were above the theater of operations competing for the honor of all Cubans.
