Gran actuación ha tenido Cuba durante su participación en estas lides deportivas. A pesar de no participar en todas las ediciones realizadas domina el número de títulos alcanzados y en varios deportes su dominio ha sido casi absoluto.
Otro de los elementos importantes de Cuba en los juegos es que ha logrado a prestigiar los juegos porque sus campeones olímpicos y mundiales han participado en estos eventos, lo que los ha convertido en importantes ventanas, para dar a conocer el desarrollo del deporte, no sólo, de Cuba, sino de toda Centroamérica y el Caribe.

Todos los países que conforman el área de Centroamérica y el Caribe han participado en los juegos y han alcanzado, al menos, una medalla. Sin embargo, hay cuatro equipos que han dominado en el número de medalla históricamente y este año no será la excepción.
Estos países son: Cuba, México, Venezuela y Colombia. Lo significativo de todo esto es que en estos juegos la lucha por acortar las distancias entre el 1 y 2 y entre los puestos 3 y 4 será intenso.

Cuba tiene un balance de medallas de oro superior a México, pues desde 1970, en Panamá y hasta Veracruz en México 2014, Cuba dominó la tabla general con amplio margen. Sin embargo, en la última edición de Barranquilla, en Colombia, México desplazó, en esos juegos, a Cuba del primer lugar por países y recortó el número de títulos que lo separa de la mayor de las Antillas, pero que todavía está distante de alcanzar, pues en una revisión realizada en Wikipedia, sobre el Medallero histórico de los juegos Cuba tiene 1752 medallas de oro y México 1367.
Para estos juegos el autor considera que México volverá a ganar los juegos y Cuba debe luchar con los otros dos grandes del área por el segundo lugar, pues unido a todos los problemas que tenemos con el deporte cubano se une el desarrollo acelerado que viene teniendo Colombia y el empuje acostumbrado de Venezuela.
Si Cuba quiere mantener el segundo lugar por países deportes como el Atletismo, Boxeo, Lucha, Judo, Remo, Kayaks, Tiro Deportivo, Taekwondo tendrán que hacer sus mejores aportes. En los deportes colectivos le será más difícil acceder a lo más alto del podio, pues nuestros equipos han perdido, por variadas razones, la jerarquía que antaño tenían estos deportes.
Sólo se vislumbra que deportes colectivos como el Balonmano y Voleibol en la rama masculina puedan levantar el trofeo de campeón, pues deportes como el Béisbol, Baloncesto Femenino y el Voleibol de la misma rama han cedido su protagonismo con otros países, como República Dominicana en el caso del Voleibol.
Lo del Béisbol es una publicación aparte, pero en nuestro deporte nacional hace rato que no ganamos un título a nivel se mayores y en esta competición tendremos una fuerte rivalidad por el título con potencias como Venezuela, República Dominicana, México, Puerto Rico y otros como Nicaragua, Colombia y Panamá ya han demostrado que pueden ganarle a nuestra selección nacional.

Comenzó la fiesta deportiva de Centroamérica y el Caribe. Serán 17 días de duro batallar entre todos los países del área, por alcanzar los mejores resultados posibles. En estos días se producirán batallas interesantes, entre todos los atletas y equipos por alcanzar los mejores resultados posibles y ubicarse en la cumbre del deporte centroamericano.
Dentro de esos equipos estarán los cubanos que nuevamente serán protagonistas de estos juegos deportivos considerados los que dieron orígenes a todos los juegos regionales del mundo.
