ENGLISH
Of all the photographs I keep, this is perhaps the one I love the most.
Technically, it is not a great photograph because the contrast, brightness or quality of the photographic lens is not very noticeable. But, emotionally, you can feel the love, empathy, affection and beauty of a mother for her child.
She remembers that photograph as if it were today. It was taken on January 1, 2014, my 47th birthday.
On that day, photos were taken that are in the trunk of memories I have in my heart. But this one, in particular, is the one of which I have the most copies scattered all over my digital device.
The other significant element of this photo is that it is the only one in which I am alone with my mother.
Several times I have been asked to explain what love is or I have been asked to illustrate harmony and I show this photo.
I remember that once, a person I love very much told me that the protagonist was not a beautiful woman. It is true that it bothered me a lot, but I was able to keep calm and I replied with a question: What is beauty for you?
He began to hesitate and to emit criteria that, for those who write, do not define beauty. I told him: I am going to help you, I am going to give you some elements and you tell me if you consider them beautiful or not:
A person who does good no matter to whom.
Someone who has love for the human being as her philosophy of life.
A woman who is incapable of assuming or allowing an injustice.
A human being who has made helping others her main motto.
Someone who loves, punishes, pushes forward and teaches with the same strength and softness of her soul.
He told me that these things are beautiful.
I told him: they and many more characterize the protagonist of the photo.
He told me: what I meant is that she is not a pretty woman.
I told her, “You have to read the book, the Little Prince,” so that you know that beauty is invisible to the eyes and that it is only seen well with the heart.
