Hamburg Speicherstadt part 2 – EN
Hello Steemians,
With a barge trip through the Speicherstadt you can feel how the Ewer leaders steered their barges through the waterways and transported the goods they took in from the seagoing ships to the storehouses. The goods were then hoisted up on the outer façade with winches and stored at the appropriate dry and temperature by the people in the quarters.
Along the canal, one sees many well-known and striking buildings. The next picture shows the Columbus Haus on Wilhelminen Brücke, which today serves as an office building and is in the direct neighborhood of the Elbphilharmonie.
The next building is known from the television series Notruf Hafenenkante. It is the building of the harbor police station 2 on the Kehrwiederspitze at Sandtorkai. Today, the building is home to the water police.
The next building is the HHLA building at St. Annen Street. The HHLA Company is the Hamburg Harbor and Logistics AG. It operates port logistics throughout Hamburg's port area.
Another striking building is the Wasserschloss in the Speicherstadt. Today the Wasserschloss is a tea shop and a restaurant. Click on the following link for more information:

The Fleetschlösschen is another well-known building within the Speicherstadt complex. It is located at the intersection of Brooktorkai and St.-Annen Bridge and is now a restaurant.
The International Maritime Museum in Brooktorhafen is a very massive building and, like all other buildings around the Speicherstadt, built in the clinker style.
In the Genuss Speicher store at St. Annen Fleet you can taste coffee specialities and buy a wide variety of coffees in their own roasting plant.

Many other locations round off the offer for a stroll through the Speicherstadt.
