The book of John 8: 36 makes us to know that God gave to us total freedom and because of this, we ought not to walk as those in bondage and captivity. Do not let the devil or anyone make you believe that you are a slave; you are no longer a slave in that Christ has made you freedom.

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. - John 8: 36

While many Christians today are still in bondage and captivity is as a result of their ignorance of the fact that through the death of Christ, we all made free. Ignorance is a slave master that is why God says that "His people perish because of the lack of knowledge." When you come to the knowledge of your freedom in Christ, you will begin to walk in freedom.

Meanwhile, if you are yet to recognize with the finished work of Christ on the cross, you are still in bondage. Freedom is in God alone; if you want to be free from sin, sickness, poverty, frustration etc then run to Jesus and you will be free. He came that we might be free.

To walk in freedom, these are the things you must do:

Obey God's Word

Total and perfect freedom only comes when we walk in obedience. We must learn to do what God tells us to do; it is by doing so that we can receive this freedom from the saviour. Disobedience does not allow one to enter into the realm of freedom. Do according to every precept of God's word. Jesus lived in freedom because He obeyed the Father's commandment at all times.

Know His will concerning your life

Another vital thing we must do as Christians in order to live in freedom is discover the will of God concerning our lives. When we know the will of God concerning us, we can never be cajoled by the devil. God's will brings liberation; Jesus was able to walk in freedom because He discovered His purpose on earth. We too can walk in total freedom when we know His will concerning our lives.

Hence, as you go about your daily life, live as one that has been made free. The freedom Christ gave us is everlasting and permanent so continually position yourself well in Him so as to live a life of liberty and freedom. You are free indeed; No chains are holding you.

God bless you!
