We serve a God of miracles so, it does not make sense to believe in God and not believe in miracles. It's a clear contradiction. Also, the fact that God is a miracle-working does not mean that we should tempt Him by always asking for signs and wonders. He doesn't have to prove Himself to anyone. He performs miracles at His will and depending on a person's level of faith.
Acts 19:11: And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul.
Miracle is not magic. The devil does magic and through this, many have been deceived and enslaved. You know, we live in an era where everyone is looking for signs and if there is none, some say the power of God is not there. That's really a poor reasoning if you ask me.
Thus, we need to be able to discern from when people are merely acting out missing or performing magic. Let us not be carried away or deceived by fake miracles. Fake prophets are abounding and they are using fake miracles to extort some ignorant fellows. Instead of always going to church for the sake of miracles; we should always go for the Word! The Word heals!
When we talk of miracles, it is the supernatural intervention that transcends human reasoning, ability, science, expectation and logic. If it does not look like God's handwork then it is not a miracle. Miracle is the invasion of divinity to change a situation.
There comes a point in our lives when we need a miracle from God. That moment comes in our lives when our strengths is being limited, help seems to not be coming from anywhere, doors appears closed, we seem alone, forgotten and abandoned; things look impossible in the human eye. It is in times like this that we need miracles.
Psalm 77:14: You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.
To receive miracles from God, you have to believe that God can actually perform it. When you pray, believe and be expectant, miracles will be inevitable. God can do and will do anything for you because you believe. Meanwhile, christianity is not all about miracles. What is more important is your knowledge of the Word and personal relationship with God.
