Today is my my birthday.
When I was a child, I remember I wanted to be seventeen years old.
I thought it would be the perfect age.
Too young to be drafted but old enough to have the kind of fun I wanted.
I was right.
Seventeen was good.
And so was the 50 years I lived after that.

I never thought about that as a kid.
But I’m good with it.
I’m healthy, fairly fit, and I’ve had an interesting life so far.
I hope for many more.
