MZ was a motorcycle manufacturer located in Zschopau (Germany). They are two-stroke motorcycles and little sale at the time in Spain, but not in other countries where they are the majority in markets such as Cuba. MZ is an acronym, it stands for Motorradwerk Zschopau (German for Motorcycle Factory in Zschopau) in the Erzgebirge region of Saxony; this brand was called for a few years as MuZ which comes from Motorrad und Zweiradwerk (from the German motorcycle and two-wheel factory), today it is renamed MZ with the full name MZ Motorrad- und Zweiradwerk GmbH.**
