Being baptized is the symbol that represents the new birth, this occurs when we receive Christ as Lord and Savior.
In general, it currently occurs in reverse order because when we decide to go down to the waters it is because we previously decided to be born again.
However, the meaning is the same as yesterday, since it encompasses the process of transformation that occurs in our life when we repent of our sinful life and begin to straighten our steps by doing the will of the Father.
